National media has new ploy against President Trump

The Boston Globe has put out a call for newspapers around the country to all publish editorials this Thursday, Aug. 16 that call out President Donald Trump for what they call “frequent attacks on the news media.”
It was not long after Trump became a serious candidate for president that the attacks by much of the national media were coming at him. As the first non-political candidate who ever became president, Trump was frequently criticized for comments he made, for the way he communicated to the American public through Twitter, and mostly for his conservative values that have led to many changes in the country that the mostly liberal media does not like.
Trump responded by coining the phrase “fake news” since the media seemed more interested in criticizing him than they did in doing their job properly. Even now as the country has seen numerous signs that Trump’s policies have led to millions of new jobs, record low unemployment particularly for African Americans and Hispanics, and lower taxes for American workers across the board, the national media remains obsessed with finding some kind of evidence that would support the clearly false claim that Trump’s team colluded with Russia in the election.
Meanwhile, the story that may be called the biggest scandal in American political history—Hillary Clinton destroying over 33,000 e-mails and allegedly committing felonies in the process of exposing U.S. security secrets—has been largely ignored.
That same media group also seems uninterested in the real collusion election story: former FBI Director James Comey and a host of cohorts who used the U.S. law enforcement system to try and derail Trump from becoming president, with false information paid for by the Clinton Foundation.
Trump has been very different from any other U.S. president. As he has watched the biased reporting about his office he has spoken up and called the media out. His most recent public comment was referring to the national media as the “enemy of the people.”
That was apparently too much for Marjorie Pritchard, Boston Globe Deputy Managing Editor for their editorial page. She began to rally newspapers nationally to publish editorials this week denouncing what the paper called “a dirty war against the free press.”
It’s downright amusing to see how angry members of the national media corp have become about Trump. Over 18 months into his presidency he has still not backed down from trying to achieve all the promises he made. And even with a weak-willed Republican Congress to work with, he has made the greatest economic turnaround seen in decades for the United States.
The national media still doesn’t know what to do with President Trump, so now they are crying to the American people about the names they have been called. Maybe if they focused on doing their jobs instead of worrying about their precious reputation the American people might start getting real, honest journalism again.
